Gino Mendez has spent more than eleven years on the mats, and he runs Peerless Jiu-Jitsu Banning with the same mindset he brings to every class: show up, work hard, take care of the people training next to you.
Background
Gino started his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey at Flow Academy under Professor Eric Barajas, then continued at 10th Planet Beaumont under Professor Luciano Ortiz. He went on to open Pro-Depth Academy, building a training community in Banning from the ground up. Today he continues his own development toward his black belt under Professor Pin Diego at Alliance Yucaipa.
Peerless Jiu-Jitsu Banning marks a new chapter. Gino teamed up with Professor Steven Martinez of Peerless Jiu-Jitsu Academy to open the very first Peerless franchise, and he is deeply grateful for the trust that came with it. Carrying the Peerless lineage forward, with respect, integrity, and dedication, is something he takes seriously.
Teaching Philosophy
Gino believes Jiu-Jitsu belongs to anyone willing to try it. Children, teens, and adults all train under his roof, and the goal is the same for each of them: confidence, discipline, fitness, and the kind of perseverance that shows up long after class ends. Beginners are never thrown in the deep end, and nobody is expected to arrive already in shape.
Proud of where the academy started. Grateful for the coaches who guided him. Excited for what comes next. Oss!
